ABOUT US

Kingsplay Farming Company Limited was established as a trading business in 2004. The name 'Kingsplay' comes from King's Play Hill, a 29.5 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest situated in the parish of Heddington, Wiltshire.

Our family have been custodians of this precious heritage asset since 1934, when Walter Stuart Tyler took on the tenancy at Church Farm, Heddington, and began milking 35 cowsStuart was joined by his son, David, and together they grew the business, buying Home Farm and establishing a second dairy herd in the 1970's.

David's son, Nick, is the third generation of the Tyler family to farm in Heddington. He returned home to the farming business in 1995, with the ambition of milking 500 cows. David agreed and the opportunity arose to build a purpose-built dairy unit, capable of housing and milking up to 550 cows, on a green-field site. On the 7th January 2003, David and Nick turned the first sod and work began on the new dairy unit, which was completed in March 2004.

After David passed away in 2017, Nick's wife, Lucy, took on a more active role in the farming business, working alongside Nick to optimise the health and welfare of their animals and secure a contract to supply milk to M&S, an achievement they are both extremely proud of.
